Air Liquide has announced a renewable hydrogen production project at TotalEnergies' La Mède site in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France. The project involves building a new hydrogen production unit with a capacity of 25,000 tonnes per year to meet TotalEnergie's biorefinery hydrogen needs. This initiative aims to create a renewable hydrogen ecosystem in the Fos-sur-Mer area, contributing to the decarbonization of the biorefinery and reducing CO₂ emissions by 130,000 tonnes yearly. The project, requiring an investment of over 80 million euros and set to be operational by 2028, signifies a milestone in Air Liquide's efforts towards decarbonization. By offering a variety of decarbonization solutions, including renewable hydrogen, CO₂ capture, and low-carbon hydrogen, Air Liquide is actively supporting the energy transition and addressing climate challenges.
