The firm anticipates a surge in blue hydrogen investments, with several large-scale projects expected to finalize investment decisions, making US projects significantly larger than green hydrogen initiatives. Additionally, Latin America, the Middle East, India, and China are highlighted as frontrunners in giga-scale green hydrogen projects, with Chinese companies set to secure a significant portion of orders globally, and Japanese firms gearing up for contract-for-difference auctions. On the other hand, Siemens Mobility has announced the approval for its Mireo Plus H hydrogen trains to operate with passengers in Germany. These trains, with a range of 1,200 km, are powered by an H2 traction system that provides 1.7 MW for acceleration and can reach speeds of up to 160 km/h. This development marks a significant step towards emission-free transportation in the Berlin-Brandenburg and Bavarian regions, showcasing the advancement of hydrogen technology in the mobility sector.
