Delphi Academy has unveiled a new advanced hydrogen training course aimed at shaping the future of hydrogen training within the industry. This course, designed as progression training for Delphi's IMI Accredited Hydrogen Awareness course, offers a deeper understanding of hydrogen fuel cell and internal combustion operation. Practical hands-on tasks on Delphi's hydrogen powertrain rig, including changing injector seals with a special hydrogen purging process, are part of the curriculum. David Guilfoyle, a technical trainer at Delphi, emphasized the importance of educating participants in this new era of hydrogen internal combustion vehicles. Luke Garratt, the UK technical services manager at Delphi, highlighted the significance of understanding hydrogen technology within the automotive sector and choosing the right fuel for each application. The first delegate to complete and pass the advanced hydrogen training, Neil Fryer, vice-president and general manager for global aftermarket at Phinia, praised Delphi for offering the necessary expertise and resources in an industry where deep understanding of hydrogen technology is often lacking. Delphi's initiative aims to set benchmarks for hydrogen training and contribute to a more knowledgeable workforce in the field.
