Chang Jae-hoon, the President and CEO of Hyundai Motor, has been appointed as the co-chair of the Hydrogen Council, a global corporate initiative promoting hydrogen adoption for a clean energy transition. This announcement was made during an annual CEO event in Berlin, where Chang will work closely with Sanjiv Lamba, the CEO of Linde plc, to lead the council. The primary focus of their collaboration will be to stimulate demand for hydrogen energy and establish a framework for global trade and increased investments in this sector. Chang's new role follows the tenure of Yoshinori Kanehana from Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Hyundai Motor highlighted its longstanding commitment to hydrogen technology, having pioneered numerous advancements including the development of the world's first mass-produced fuel cell electric vehicles. Chang expressed his enthusiasm for the position, recognizing the significance of the Hydrogen Council in the global energy transition landscape.
