The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and the Carbon Market Association of India (CMAI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi to strengthen India's carbon markets and advance decarbonisation efforts. The agreement was announced during the IICA-CMAI Masterclass on Global & Indian Carbon Markets, which was attended by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road, Transport & Highways, Government of India. Minister Gadkari highlighted the role of biofuels and green hydrogen in India's economic and environmental future, expressing his vision for hydrogen to be the future fuel at $1 per kg. He emphasized the government's commitment to developing a diversified biofuels sector and making India a Green Hydrogen exporting country. The partnership between IICA and CMAI will focus on training programs, joint research, workshops, and policy advocacy to accelerate sustainable business initiatives and support India's transition to a low-carbon economy. This collaboration aims to equip industry professionals, policymakers, and academicians with the necessary expertise to navigate India's evolving carbon markets and drive the country towards its net zero goals.
