Costain, an infrastructure solutions company, has secured a multimillion-pound front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract from bp to develop a new hydrogen distribution network in Teesside, United Kingdom. The project involves constructing a 31km onshore pipeline to transport purified and dehydrated hydrogen from bp's production facility to industrial end users. H2Teesside, part of the East Coast Cluster, aims to become one of the largest blue hydrogen production facilities in the UK, producing 160,000 tonnes of low carbon hydrogen annually to replace natural gas consumption.
