Hyundai Motor, South Korea's top automaker, has entered into an agreement with the cities of Ulsan and Guangzhou to boost the development of the global hydrogen ecosystem. The partnership involves the establishment of a consultative body focused on the hydrogen industry, as well as joint initiatives for the production, supply, and utilization of hydrogen energy. Additionally, collaborative research projects aimed at enhancing hydrogen-related technology are planned. Hyundai Motor also plans to assist Ulsan and Guangzhou in solidifying their positions as cities supportive of hydrogen. Ulsan, chosen earlier this year to spearhead South Korea's hydrogen city initiative, is set to play a significant role in this collaboration. Meanwhile, Guangzhou, one of five model areas designated for promoting hydrogen vehicle usage in 2021, is positioning itself as a hub for hydrogen cars. Hyundai Motor's CEO emphasized the importance of Ulsan and Guangzhou in the global hydrogen industry, citing the mass production of the company's first hydrogen vehicle in Ulsan and Guangzhou's hosting of Hyundai's initial foreign hydrogen fuel cell system production facility.
