Essar Energy Transition (EET) Hydrogen has signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (“EPC”) contract with ENKA for its low carbon hydrogen production plant at the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. This project, known as HPP1, received funding from the UK Government to become the first large-scale low carbon hydrogen project in the HyNet Cluster. HPP1 is set to have a capacity of 350MW and will capture approximately 600,000 tonnes of CO2 annually, playing a crucial role in reducing emissions. The collaboration between EET Hydrogen and ENKA signifies a significant milestone for the UK hydrogen industry and the broader goal of developing 4GW of low carbon hydrogen production in the North West of England. ENKA, known for its expertise in engineering and construction, is enthusiastic about contributing to the advancement of the UK's low carbon hydrogen sector. EET Hydrogen's CEO expressed excitement about this partnership, highlighting ENKA's successful track record in delivering complex projects worldwide. The project aims to support decarbonization efforts, protect jobs, and drive economic growth in the region. EET Hydrogen is positioning itself as a key player in the energy transition, aiming to produce significant amounts of low carbon hydrogen to meet the UK Government's targets. Through investments in the North-West region, EET Hydrogen plans to facilitate the shift from fossil fuels to low carbon energy, contributing to a sustainable future and unlocking economic opportunities.
