During Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's visit to Beijing, China’s Envision revealed a significant investment of $1 billion for the establishment of a hydrogen electrolyzer factory in Spain. This initiative aims to bolster Spain's presence in the green hydrogen market by constructing the first industrial park for green hydrogen and net zero technologies in Europe. The factory, anticipated to commence construction in the first half of 2026, is projected to generate around a thousand job opportunities. Although the precise location is yet to be disclosed, Envision emphasizes close collaboration with the government to determine the optimal site. The facility is set to produce various essential electrolyzers for green hydrogen production, operating on locally sourced clean energy like biomass, solar, and wind power, emphasizing environmental sustainability. Envision's dedication to eco-friendly practices is further demonstrated by their parallel investment of 900 million euros in a renewable hydrogen plant in Alcazar de San Juan. This strategic move not only signifies Envision's commitment to advancing green technologies but also showcases a positive step towards a greener and more sustainable future for Spain's industrial sector.
