EverWind Submits Clean Hydrogen Project Plan for Point Tupper Green Ammonia Project
Key Ideas
  • EverWind, a North American green hydrogen developer, has submitted the Clean Hydrogen Investment Tax Credit Project Property Plan for its Point Tupper Green Ammonia Project Phase I to NRCan.
  • The Point Tupper project is on track to be the first in Canada to secure the CH ITC, gaining the maximum credit value based on validated carbon intensity of clean hydrogen.
  • Finalizing carbon intensity modeling and project plan submission will enable EverWind to access the highest CH ITC tier, offering 40% of eligible capital expenditures for green hydrogen production.
  • The submission builds on a FEED study's results and project assessments to ensure compliance with expected carbon intensity standards.
EverWind, a green hydrogen developer in North America, has completed and submitted the Clean Hydrogen Investment Tax Credit (CH ITC) Clean Hydrogen Project Property Plan for its Point Tupper Green Ammonia Project Phase I to Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). The project at Point Tupper aims to become the first in Canada to secure the CH ITC, signaling eligibility for the maximum credit value based on independently validated carbon intensity of clean hydrogen. By finalizing the carbon intensity modeling and submitting the Clean Hydrogen Project plan, EverWind anticipates accessing the highest tier of the CH ITC, amounting to 40 percent of eligible capital expenditures with a projected carbon intensity below 0.75 kilograms of carbon dioxide per kilogram of green hydrogen. Leveraging a recently completed front-end engineering design (FEED) study, the submission includes an evaluation of the project's expected carbon intensity, ensuring alignment with the CH ITC criteria and demonstrating the commitment to green technology and environmental sustainability.
