Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has revealed that Australia's Fortescue has agreed to invest in green hydrogen alternative energy in Bintulu, Malaysia. This move solidifies Sarawak's position as a green energy leader. The agreement was reached during a meeting at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Summit 2025 in Davos, Switzerland. Anwar expressed his commitment to supporting Bintulu as a hub for green hydrogen, with incentives provided by the Sarawak government. Additionally, discussions on investment opportunities for Sabah were held, signaling Malaysia's focus on sustainable development. The collaboration with Fortescue, a global green technology and metals company, aligns with their goal to achieve zero terrestrial emissions by 2030.
