Linde plc has announced a substantial investment exceeding $2 billion to establish a cutting-edge clean hydrogen production facility in Alberta, Canada. The project, slated for completion by 2028, aims to be the largest facility of its kind in Canada and among the largest globally. This initiative led by Linde will employ advanced autothermal reforming technology along with its proprietary HISORP carbon capture system to produce clean hydrogen. Additionally, the facility will capture and reuse hydrogen from off-gases produced by Dow Inc.'s ethylene cracker. The collaboration with Dow is a key aspect of this investment, supporting Dow's innovative Path2Zero project which targets achieving net-zero emissions in its operations. Initially, the facility will provide clean hydrogen, nitrogen, and other essential services to Dow's ethylene cracker project.
