The Tamil Nadu cabinet, led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, granted approval to 14 new investments totaling ₹38,698 crore during a recent meeting. The sectors benefiting from these investments range from non-leather footwear manufacturing to green hydrogen and e-vehicles. Notable projects include a substantial investment by Yuzhan technology (India) Pvt Ltd, a unit of Foxconn, which is expected to bring in Rs.13,180 crore and employ 14,000 individuals. Additionally, Tata Motors, Leap Green Energy Private Ltd, Freetrend Industrial India Private Ltd, and other companies have planned significant investments across various districts in Tamil Nadu. The Finance Minister, Thangam Thennarasu, highlighted the importance of creating more jobs in the state to leverage the skilled workforce available. The government intends to provide incentives to these companies based on recommendations from the Interdepartmental Committee.
