Viking and Fincantieri have unveiled plans to launch the world's first hydrogen-powered cruise ship, the Viking Libra, set to debut in 2026. This innovative vessel is being constructed at Fincantieri's Ancona shipyard and will operate with zero emissions, thanks to its hybrid propulsion system based partially on liquefied hydrogen and fuel cells. The ship, classified as a small ship with a gross tonnage of approximately 54,300 tons, will feature 499 staterooms accommodating 998 guests.
