The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has unveiled its Draft 2024 Connecticut Clean Hydrogen Roadmap to boost the production and infrastructure of hydrogen in the state. The roadmap outlines Connecticut's vision for incorporating clean hydrogen into its energy sector to drive decarbonisation, economic prosperity, and environmental fairness. By promoting the use of hydrogen derived from renewable sources, the state aims to advance the adoption of clean hydrogen technologies. The DEEP is focused on identifying target technologies, volumes, and strategic approaches to expand Connecticut's hydrogen economy effectively. The Draft Clean Hydrogen Roadmap not only evaluates the benefits and risks associated with hydrogen but also proposes policies, programs, and pilot projects to align hydrogen development with state objectives. Furthermore, in a significant development, FuelCell Energy recently inaugurated a 14MW fuel cell park in Derby, Connecticut, which stands as one of the largest in North America.
