In Muscat, Oman, the Green Hydrogen Ecosystem Readiness Steering Committee, under the leadership of His Excellency Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, has introduced 'gHad', a dedicated digital platform to monitor the readiness and progress of Oman's green hydrogen strategy. This initiative, spearheaded by Hydrom, aims to facilitate collaboration, provide real-time insights, and drive the country towards its 2030 green hydrogen production targets. 'gHad' is the outcome of the Ecosystem Readiness Lab held in September 2024, which identified 26 key initiatives crucial for Oman's hydrogen ambitions. By focusing on permits, contractors, workforce development, logistics, and local content, 'gHad' seeks to transition Oman's strategy from planning to structured execution. Eng. Abdulaziz Said Al Shidhani, Managing Director of Hydrom, highlights the importance of sector readiness in achieving Oman's green hydrogen goals and emphasizes 'gHad' as a tool for aligning efforts, addressing challenges, and supporting decision-making. Hydrom, as the national orchestrator, plays a pivotal role in Oman's green hydrogen economy development by advising on policies, managing project allocations, and fostering industry growth. The 'gHad' platform serves as a centralized system to integrate various stakeholders, enhance governance, increase transparency, and drive data-driven decision-making as Oman aims to become a key player in the global hydrogen economy.
