Solaris Bus & Coach has signed a significant contract to supply Belfort, a city in France, with eight state-of-the-art hydrogen buses. The 18-meter Urbino 18 vehicles, equipped with cutting-edge hydrogen technology, are set to be delivered in the latter half of 2025. These buses were purchased by SMTC, a transport operators' association in the region, and will be operated by RTTB, responsible for managing Belfort's public transport. Solaris France's managing director, Brice Bonavia, expressed pride in this collaboration, highlighting the buses' role in providing high-tech, zero-emission transport solutions for the city. The hydrogen buses will incorporate a 100-kW fuel cell, composite tanks storing over 50 kg of hydrogen, and Solaris High Power batteries for peak electricity demands. They will also feature a 240-kW electric motor and a modular drive system optimizing passenger space. Safety measures like blind-spot alerts and advanced air conditioning will ensure a comfortable and secure travel experience. Solaris's success in the French hydrogen bus market is evident with recent orders, reinforcing its leading position and commitment to sustainable urban mobility.
