G+T recently advised APA Group on the signing of a Design and Development Agreement and Project Development and Gas Transport and Services terms sheets for new 23-kilometre natural gas pipelines that have the potential to be converted into hydrogen service in the future. These pipelines will link APA's 'Roma to Brisbane' transmission pipeline to a new hydrogen-ready Peaking Power Plant at the Kogan Clean Energy Hub near Chinchilla, known as the Brigalow Plant. The full Project Development and Gas Transport and Services Agreements are still subject to negotiations and internal approvals. The completion of the Pipeline is expected in mid to late-2026 and will supply the Brigalow Plant, supporting Queensland's decarbonisation efforts and energy security during high demand periods for renewable energy. APA Group, a major ASX listed energy infrastructure business, will add these pipelines to its extensive network of natural gas pipelines, contributing to Australia's gas transmission infrastructure. The project was led by G+T's senior energy and infrastructure partner Alexander Danne, who expressed pleasure in advising APA on this significant energy transition project, emphasizing the stakeholders' commitment to decarbonising the economy and ensuring energy security for the Australian population.
