The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) is focusing on harnessing Odisha's renewable energy potential, with the state already boasting an installed capacity of 2.8 GW, including large hydro, solar, small hydro, and wind sources. Odisha ranks high in solar, wind, hydro, and biomass potential, with a significant share of green energy in its generation mix. IREDA's support through loans totaling ₹3,060 crore has been vital for the state's renewable energy sector. Odisha is poised to lead the green hydrogen revolution, with projects requiring a massive investment of around Rs 3 lakh crore. These initiatives will not only drive sustainable energy practices but also boost the state's economic growth, particularly benefiting industries like steel and aluminium.
