The Ministry of Energy and Minerals in Oman, in collaboration with partners, is actively working on enhancing local content initiatives to achieve sustainable development. Dr Ali bin Salim al Rajhi highlighted the ministry's focus on boosting local content through programs and projects in line with the National Policy for Local Content. Efforts include specialized training for Omani workers, creating job opportunities, and supporting SMEs in the oil and gas sector. The ministry is also working to increase Omanisation rates in operating and contracting companies. Additionally, initiatives like the National System Readiness Laboratory, in collaboration with the Hydrogen Oman Company, aim to support the green hydrogen sector and increase local value in key sectors. Various manufacturing projects in the minerals sector are aiding in diversifying income sources. Oman's rich mineral resources present significant economic opportunities, and the ministry has developed a strategy for social responsibility in the oil and gas sector, focusing on sustainability and community service.
