EnergyPathways PLC has advanced plans for the Marram Energy Storage Hub (MESH) project in the North Sea, positioning it to become the UK's largest offshore storage site. Following the approval for license operatorship by the NSTA, PDi has been selected to provide engineering study assistance for the project, alongside Wood PLC as the main engineering partner. The CEO, Ben Clube, expressed delight over the milestone achieved and the progress towards the final investment decision. The project, aimed at increasing the UK's natural gas and energy storage capacity, is designed to offer a reliable supply of natural gas and green hydrogen to the UK market for more than two decades. Scheduled to start operations by the end of 2029, MESH will ensure a stable energy supply for the country, emphasizing energy security and the mitigation of global energy price fluctuations. Powered by renewable wind farms in the UK Irish Sea region, MESH is planned as a decarbonized and electrified zero-emission facility, aligning with EnergyPathways' commitment to supporting the UK's energy transition and promoting a hydrogen economy.
