EverWind Fuels, a leading developer of green hydrogen projects in North America, has registered an Environmental Assessment for the Burin Peninsula Green Fuels Project in Newfoundland & Labrador. The project aims to generate green hydrogen using 10 gigawatts of onshore wind and 2.5 gigawatts of solar energy. EverWind has been conducting critical pre-construction activities since March 2022, including the installation of wind and solar measurement equipment and environmental data collection. The project will include wind farms in three areas on the Burin Peninsula and an industrial facility producing green hydrogen and green hydrogen-derived green fuels, located near the Town of Marystown. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026, subject to regulatory approval. The project represents a significant investment of C$16 billion and is expected to create thousands of jobs, contributing to the economic stability of the region. EverWind is actively engaging with communities, conducting environmental studies, and involving Indigenous communities to ensure the project's alignment with sustainable development goals.
