First Hydrogen Corp. (FHYDF) has announced the establishment of its wholly-owned German subsidiary, First Hydrogen GmbH, as part of its strategic expansion into the European market. This move is in harmony with Germany's renewable energy initiatives and leadership in hydrogen technology. Germany's implementation of a €500-billion special infrastructure fund and adoption of a new hydrogen import strategy to meet the projected demand of 95-130 TWh by 2030, with imports expected to cover 50-70% of needs, have created a favorable environment for companies like First Hydrogen. The approval of plans for a €19 billion, 9,040-kilometer hydrogen network to be operational by 2032 further solidifies the country's commitment to hydrogen infrastructure. First Hydrogen aims to provide green hydrogen supply, incorporating small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) that have been labeled as green energy under the EU taxonomy due to their significantly lower CO2 emissions.
