Lhyfe, a key player in the green hydrogen sector, has received a substantial boost with a €149 million grant from the French government for its upcoming green hydrogen production facility near the Grand Canal of Le Havre. The plant, a part of the Green Horizon project, is set to become one of France and Europe's first large-scale plants producing decarbonised hydrogen via water electrolysis. It aims to reach a production capacity of 34 tonnes of green hydrogen per day by 2029, supporting the decarbonisation needs of industries and mobility sectors in the region. The phased funding plan, with an initial €18 million advance and subsequent payments tied to project milestones, ensures the project's progress over the next four years. The support from both France and the European Commission underscores the importance of Lhyfe's initiative in advancing decarbonisation goals. With necessary permits and environmental authorisations in place, Lhyfe is poised to lead a significant industrial shift towards reducing fossil fuel dependence and meeting greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.
