GS Engineering & Construction is set to launch an innovative eco-friendly energy initiative in Pohang, in collaboration with key partners. A recent business agreement signed with Pohang City Hall, HD Hyundai Infracore, and AMOGY aims to revitalize distributed energy in the region. This strategic partnership includes establishing a specialized energy area within Pohang's industrial complex, implementing a power plant trial using clean ammonia for carbon-free electricity generation, and developing a clean hydrogen compound-based hydrogen engine generator. The project involves cutting-edge technology to convert ammonia into hydrogen for efficient power generation. By combining the expertise of AMOGY and HD Hyundai Infracore, GS E&C plans to install a compact power generation module in Pohang, showcasing an advanced method that is both cost-effective and space-efficient compared to traditional hydrogen generation techniques. This initiative aligns with GS E&C's commitment to meeting carbon reduction regulations and the National Greenhouse Gas Reduction Target. With a focus on providing pollution-free electricity, the project anticipates a surge in demand for carbon-free energy in various sectors, including data centers, manufacturing plants, and zero-energy buildings.
