Hero Future Energies (HFE), a part of the Hero Group, has been chosen as a consortia partner for the Bhubaneswar Hydrogen Valley Innovation Cluster (HVIC), where it will collaborate with IIT-Bhubaneswar. The primary focus of HFE in this partnership is to provide solutions for the production of renewable energy and green hydrogen, emphasizing the direct reduction of iron and solutions for heavy-duty mobility. The Bhubaneswar-HVIC project aims to produce hydrogen through electrolysis, with a specific target towards the steel and mobility sectors. Furthermore, the Indian government has invited bids to establish 15 hydrogen valley innovation clusters across various regions, with a focus on green hydrogen valleys in Kerala, Pune, Bhubaneswar, and Jodhpur. These projects are planned to scale up to commercial levels and will be managed by a new entity to ensure sustainable operation for over five years. The concept of hydrogen valleys encompasses the comprehensive utilization of hydrogen across production, storage, transport, and distribution, with the overarching goal of fostering research, innovation, and capacity building in the clean hydrogen sector for both local and national applications.
