Spanish energy giant Iberdrola and UK-based oil and gas company BP have received approval to construct a 25 MW green hydrogen plant in Castellón, Spain. The project, part of their joint venture Castellón Green Hydrogen S.L., will receive €15 million funding from Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The plant is planned to house a 25 MW electrolyzer and convert 200 GWh of renewable energy from Iberdola’s photovoltaic and wind projects into approximately 2,800 mt of green hydrogen annually.
