Gensol Engineering Limited, in partnership with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd, has secured a ₹164 crore contract to develop India’s first bio-hydrogen project. The project, aimed at converting 25 tons of bio-waste into 1 ton of hydrogen per day, aligns with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, signifying a significant step towards sustainable energy. The consortium will utilize Westinghouse, USA's patented Pre-Gasification Plasma Induced Radiant Energy-Based Gasification System (GH2-PREGS) technology for the project, showcasing a commitment to innovation in the renewable energy sector. Anmol Singh Jaggi, chairman and managing director of Gensol Engineering Ltd., expressed honor in emerging as the lowest bidder for the project, emphasizing its importance in their commitment to renewable energy innovation. Chirag Kotecha, whole-time director of Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd., highlighted the project as a leap forward in India’s energy transition mission. The project, to be completed in 18 months, will also include collaborations with India’s leading power generation company. Additionally, Gensol and Matrix plan to expand their collaboration into green steel and green ammonia sectors, further contributing to the nation's green initiatives.
