At the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum 2024 in Jakarta, PT Pupuk Indonesia, ACWA Power, and subsidiaries of PT PLN signed a Head of Key Terms agreement for green hydrogen procurement to develop green ammonia. This collaboration, which started last year, aims to create a more environmentally friendly industrial ecosystem in alignment with Indonesia's net-zero emissions goal by 2060. The Garuda H2 project will have a green hydrogen production capacity of 15,000 tons per year. The green hydrogen will be used as a raw material for green ammonia production, supporting the Ministry of SOEs' Green Economy Pioneer initiative. Through water electrolysis powered by renewable energy, the project ensures a low carbon intensity of the hydrogen produced. This strategic partnership highlights the commitment of Indonesian companies to decarbonize industrial processes and transition to green energy sources.
