Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT has announced the selection of four joint science research projects with top global research institutes for long-term support. One of the projects involves cooperation between Seoul's Institute for Basic Science and Tokyo's National Research and Development Agency on researching technologies for creating rare isotopes using Korea's heavy-ion accelerator, RAON. Additionally, joint research on hydrogen technologies will be conducted by Seoul National University and Stanford University in the U.S. Another project focuses on creating an advanced lab for testing autonomous driving technologies, led by the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Furthermore, the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology will collaborate with Belgium's Rega Institute for Medical Research to develop vaccines and treatments for potential pandemic-causing viruses. The initiative aims to advance technology, medical research, and scientific innovation through international collaboration, contributing to global scientific progress.
