Mitsubishi Power, a power solutions brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, successfully completed the Power Station 5 Block 4 gas turbine combined cycle power plant at Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) in Manama, Bahrain. The plant, powered by Mitsubishi Power's hydrogen-ready M701JAC gas turbine and steam turbine, represents the first deployment of this advanced technology in a Middle Eastern aluminium smelter. With a combined cycle output of 680.9 MW, the project aims to support Alba's decarbonization goals and ensure energy security for its operations. The inauguration ceremony, attended by high-level officials from Alba and Mitsubishi Power, highlighted the successful collaboration to advance sustainable energy in Bahrain.
