Nel Hydrogen US, a subsidiary of Nel ASA in Oslo, Norway, has secured a significant purchase order for two containerized PEM electrolyser units totaling 5 MW for a new steel mill in the US. The purchase order, valued at around USD 7 million, highlights the confidence and satisfaction of one of the largest US steel producers with Nel's PEM electrolysers, as they are already in use at other sites. Nel's Chief Commercial Officer, Todd Cartwright, expressed delight at the continued trust from existing customers and emphasized the rising demand for their containerized PEM electrolysers due to their reliability and easy installation process. The order for the two PEM MC500 units will be fulfilled at Nel's manufacturing facility in Wallingford, Connecticut, showcasing local production to meet global energy needs in the steel industry.
