In Vijayawada, a delegation from NITI Aayog held discussions with Chief Secretary K Vijayanand regarding a strategic roadmap for advancing Andhra Pradesh's energy sector. The meeting revolved around formulating a cost-effective energy transition plan to support the state government's efforts in reaching Net Zero targets by 2047. Chief Secretary Vijayanand highlighted the 2024 Integrated Clean Energy Policy, aiming to establish renewable energy capacity exceeding 160 GW. He emphasized the state's progress in developing renewable energy sources, attracting investments, and initiating various projects. Additionally, updates were provided on key projects including the NTPC Green Hydrogen Hub, NREDCAP JV Integrated Green Hydrogen Production Project, and initiatives by the Greenco Group in Kakinada. The delegation shared insights on their support to Maharashtra in energy transition and expressed willingness to assist Andhra Pradesh in similar endeavors. Furthermore, a proposal was made for signing an MoU between NITI Aayog and the Andhra Pradesh government to facilitate achieving the state's Net Zero target by 2047 and ensuring a smooth energy transition process.
