The Ecosystem Readiness Lab has commenced in Muscat, organized by Hydrom in collaboration with Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit and the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. The lab, spanning two weeks, aims to evaluate the readiness of Oman's infrastructure for green hydrogen production. The Minister of Energy and Minerals, Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, emphasized the significance of green hydrogen in Oman's energy transition and its role in achieving the country's ambitions set for 2040. The lab features five workstreams focusing on different sectors to develop a roadmap for a sustainable green hydrogen future. These workstreams cover construction, engineering, skilled labor, regulatory framework, logistics, and local content, aiming to identify gaps, explore collaborations, streamline processes, and maximize local involvement. Hydrom's Managing Director highlighted the importance of inclusive preparation for the challenges and opportunities in the green hydrogen sector. The lab sessions are crucial for refining strategies and enhancing partnerships, ensuring long-term economic resilience. The ultimate goal is for Oman to lead in green hydrogen production through strategic planning, sectoral collaboration, and sustainable growth.
