Plug Power Inc. and Olin Corporation are set to launch a new hydrogen plant in St. Gabriel, Louisiana, in collaboration with the Hidrogenii joint venture. The facility is expected to commence operations in the first quarter of 2025 and will contribute significantly to Plug Power's production capacity by adding 15 tons per day, ultimately reaching 39 tons per day. The expansion aims to cater to the rising demand from key partners like Amazon and Walmart while solidifying Plug Power's approach of offering vertically integrated hydrogen solutions. The project highlights a strong emphasis on safety, with an impeccable safety record of over 412,000 working hours without incidents. A meticulous dry-out process is currently ongoing to eliminate moisture and impurities from the plant's systems, ensuring the production of high-purity hydrogen. Operating 24/7, the plant in St. Gabriel will replicate optimized processes from the Woodbine facility in Georgia. This initiative forms part of Plug Power's broader strategy to establish a reliable hydrogen network throughout North America, ultimately enhancing energy independence and providing a stable supply for industrial clients.
