Renewable energy company Source Galileo and Portland Port in England have entered a partnership to advance offshore wind development in the Dorset coast of the English Channel. Portland Port, known for servicing the offshore wind sector, is exploring opportunities with potential partners to support future offshore wind projects in the region. Source Galileo, with a proven track record in offshore wind projects, is focusing on the PortWind project located off the Dorset Coast. This project, with a target capacity of 2 GW, aims to provide renewable energy to over 3 million households annually, supporting energy security in the South West and the wider UK.
The collaboration also involves Ingka Investments, the investment arm of Ingka Group, which has a 20% stake in Source Galileo's UK offshore wind projects.
