US-based Splitwaters will supply 2.5 GW of electrolyzers for the Green Urea Project in Western Australia, developed by Sun Brilliance to produce three million tons of green urea yearly. The initiative, divided into three phases, with a total investment exceeding USD 4.5 billion, emphasizes sustainability and carbon emission reduction. The project's Phase 1, slated to begin operations in early 2028, will utilize 300 MW of electrolyzers to generate 1,000 tons of green urea daily, with subsequent phases adding 2.2 GW of electrolyzers for full operational capacity. Splitwaters' collaboration with Sun Brilliance ensures an integrated approach covering green hydrogen, ammonia, and urea production processes for operational efficiency. The selection of Kwinana as the project site considers economic viability, resource availability, export potential, and environmental factors, aligning with Australia's commitment to sustainable practices and renewable energy advancements.
