PowerHouse Energy Group plc has announced that its development partner, Waste2Tricity Limited, has secured a 124-year lease at the Protos energy hub site near Ellesmere Port in Cheshire, UK. This agreement signifies a crucial milestone in the plan to construct a waste plastic to hydrogen and power facility, marking the first full-scale commercial site for PowerHouse's hydrogen from waste DMG technology. The Protos site, developed by Peel Environmental, aims to create a closed-loop solution by utilizing innovative technologies to derive value from waste and provide low carbon energy sources. The project is seen as a pioneering initiative in the UK, with potential for replication across other Peel sites in the country.
