The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has announced its partnership with the Daures Green Hydrogen Village as part of its demonstration projects under the Accelerate-to-Demonstrate (A2D) Facility. This initiative aims to support sustainable energy transition and industrial decarbonisation in line with global efforts. The project focuses on producing Namibia's first carbon-free green fertiliser, specifically Ammonium Sulphate Fertiliser, with completion expected by 2027. Funded by the UK, the A2D Facility accelerates pilot demonstration projects using innovative technologies for climate action in developing countries, with the goal of facilitating the commercialisation of cutting-edge climate solutions. UNIDO's Director General, Gerd Müller, highlighted the significance of these projects in showcasing scalable sustainable development solutions that address climate challenges effectively.
