HIF Global, a pioneer in e-fuels, is moving forward with its ambitious US$6bn green hydrogen derivatives project in Uruguay's Paysandú department. The latest update includes plans for a 1GW wind park called Elena, forming a crucial part of the larger project that aims to establish a green hydrogen and sustainable fuels plant. The wind park will consist of 158 turbines with a total capacity of 1.14GW, in addition to medium-voltage grid enhancements and the construction of three substations to support the energy generation. The electricity generated from the wind park will be utilized by the green hydrogen facility, reflecting a holistic approach to sustainable energy production. Furthermore, HIF Global has submitted documentation for a 1GW solar PV component named Lucía, indicating a multi-faceted investment in renewable energy infrastructure. Through partnerships with state biofuels companies like Alur, HIF is securing a stable supply of captured carbon dioxide, emphasizing the project's commitment to environmental responsibility.
