Governor Jim Justice kicked off the 88th-annual Meeting and Business Summit of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce with exciting economic development announcements. These announcements included significant investments in various manufacturing facilities aimed at boosting job creation in the state. Notable projects included a $35 million investment in prime6's manufacturing facility in Upshur County, set to create 75 jobs, and a $59 million investment by HandCraft Services in Berkeley County, expected to generate 220 jobs through the construction of two new plants. The highlight of the event was a $126 million investment by Babcock and Wilcox in Mason County for a coal-to-hydrogen project, emphasizing the state's commitment to innovation. This project will utilize BrightLoop technology to produce hydrogen, steam, or syngas from coal, creating 28 jobs initially with potential for further expansion. Governor Justice expressed gratitude to the business community for their support and highlighted West Virginia's attractiveness for business due to its pro-business environment and leadership. With over $20 billion in investments and 30,000 jobs expected from economic development projects initiated during his term, Governor Justice remains focused on driving economic growth and opportunity in the state.
