Yamna, a London-based green hydrogen and derivatives project development platform, has signed an agreement with Porto do Açu in Brazil to develop a green ammonia plant with a production capacity of up to one million tons per year (mtpa). The project is scheduled to have its final investment decision by 2027, with production expected to commence by 2030. This marks Yamna's first project in Brazil, aiming to establish large-scale green ammonia projects in strategic locations globally. Porto do Açu, one of Brazil's major oil and gas export facilities, is actively advancing its energy transition by dedicating land for green hydrogen projects. The collaboration between Yamna and Porto do Açu underscores the port's commitment to sustainability and innovation in supporting the decarbonization of the industry. The partnership highlights the strategic role of Porto do Açu as a hub for sustainable energy solutions, emphasizing its infrastructure and commitment to fostering projects that contribute to the global energy transition.
