Black & Veatch, a global leader in critical infrastructure solutions, has been appointed by Malaysian energy companies Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and PETRONAS to lead a feasibility study on green hydrogen commercialization. The study aims to explore the potential of Malaysia's abundant renewable resources, such as solar and hydropower, in shaping a hydrogen economy over the next decade. By leveraging its expertise in hydrogen and ammonia production, Black & Veatch will provide insights on the entire value chain of green hydrogen development. The collaboration highlights Malaysia's commitment to realizing its Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap (HETR), with a goal to become a significant hydrogen exporter in the Asia Pacific region by 2050. The projected revenue from this endeavor is expected to exceed RM400 billion (USD 85 billion). Black & Veatch's experience in delivering sustainable energy solutions positions them well to support Asia Pacific's growing energy needs through green hydrogen initiatives.
