Lhyfe, OX2, and Velarion have announced a collaborative effort to create a hydrogen-based industrial cluster in Ånge Municipality, situated in Grönsta just north of Torpshammar. This innovative project aims to combine wind power with large-scale green hydrogen production to generate carbon-negative neutral products. OX2 is developing a wind farm in Torpshammar, with plans to power a hydrogen production unit that Lhyfe will install in the same location. The hydrogen production unit is expected to have a capacity of up to 100 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, facilitated by an electrolysis capacity of approximately 300 MW. The cluster's construction would be aided by Velarion, which intends to build a carbon-neutral fertilizer plant within the project. This plant will utilize green hydrogen to produce green ammonia, reducing carbon emissions in fertilizer production and meeting the market's growing demand for sustainable products. The project aims to position Ånge as a green hub, attracting further industrial establishments and contributing to the local economy and job market.
