Essar Energy Transition (EET) Hydrogen has partnered with ENKA to construct the UK's largest low-carbon hydrogen production plant at the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. This collaboration aims to support the UK's decarbonisation goals and drive economic growth. The HPP1 plant, with a capacity of 350MW, is set to capture 600,000 tonnes of CO2 annually, equivalent to removing 250,000 cars from the road. Endorsed by the UK Government in October 2024, this project marks the country's first large-scale low-carbon hydrogen facility. Integral to the HyNet Cluster, it targets industrial decarbonisation in the North West of England to preserve jobs and boost the economy. ENKA's expertise, showcased in projects like the Hinkley Point Power Plant, ensures efficient construction of the plant. Both EET Hydrogen and ENKA are dedicated to creating a sustainable, low-carbon future, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change. This initiative signals a significant shift towards cleaner energy and underscores the collaborative commitment to a greener future for the UK.
