Key Ideas
- Envision Energy, along with PIF and Vision Industries, has formed a joint venture to manufacture renewable energy components in Saudi Arabia.
- The partnership aims to localize 75% of renewable energy components by 2030, aligning with Saudi Arabia's National Renewable Energy Program.
- Envision Energy's expertise in green power, including wind turbines, energy storage, and hydrogen solutions, was a key factor in PIF choosing them as a partner.
- Envision Energy's previous contracts, like the 1.67GW wind turbine supply contract for NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, showcase its commitment to sustainable energy projects.
Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Envision Energy has entered into a joint venture with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Vision Industries to manufacture and assemble key renewable energy components like blades, nacelles, and hubs. This aligns with Saudi Arabia's goal to localize 75% of renewable energy components by 2030 under its National Renewable Energy Program. Envision Energy will have the majority stake in the joint venture, emphasizing its commitment to the partnership. The ceremony announcing the agreement was attended by PIF governor Yasir Othman Al-Rumayyan and Envision chairman Lei Zhang.
PIF's selection of Envision Energy was influenced by the company's strong position in green power solutions, which include wind power, energy storage systems, and green hydrogen technologies to combat climate change. Envision Energy has a track record of success in the wind power sector and was recently awarded a significant contract to supply 1.67GW of wind turbines to the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, a project involving Acwa Power, Air Products, and NEOM. These turbines are expected to be operational by 2026, further demonstrating Envision Energy's capabilities in delivering sustainable energy solutions.
