Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, is set to visit Germany to strengthen India's collaboration in sustainable development and renewable energy. During the visit, he will attend the Hamburg Sustainability Conference and hold bilateral meetings with key officials from Germany and the United Kingdom. The focus will be on boosting cooperation in sustainable development, Green Hydrogen, low-cost finance, and renewable energy components. The visit aims to elevate India-Germany relations, create business opportunities, and accelerate the expansion of renewable energy globally.
The recently launched India-Germany Platform for Investment in Renewable Energies is set to foster technology transfer, create business opportunities, and meet the increasing demand for capital in the renewable energy sector. India has already achieved its NDC target of 40% cumulative electric power from non-fossil fuel-based sources by 2030, nine years ahead of schedule, and is on track to achieve the 50% target by 2030.
The energy transition efforts by India are expected to lead to increased investment and job opportunities in the renewable energy sector. India is actively promoting the development and deployment of renewable energy through initiatives like the International Solar Alliance.
