Jacobs has been appointed as the Program Manager for the Alliance for Renewable Clean Hydrogen Energy Systems (ARCHES), a key player in the national effort to promote clean hydrogen energy. The initiative, supported by funding from the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Clean Energy Demonstration (DOE OCED), aims to establish a robust hydrogen market in California. As the lead for the Program Management Office (PMO), Jacobs will oversee the setup and ongoing operations of the ARCHES consortium, focusing on integrating project activities and ensuring delivery oversight across the entire hydrogen lifecycle. This comprehensive approach covers areas such as feedstock, production, distribution, and offtake, laying the groundwork for a thriving hydrogen economy in the state. The ARCHES program, scheduled to kick off in the second half of 2024, is part of the broader Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs (H2Hubs) program, which received substantial funding as part of the White House's infrastructure investment plan. With an allocation of approximately $1.2 billion from the DOE and a total project value of nearly $13 billion, ARCHES is poised to make significant strides in advancing clean hydrogen technology.
