As part of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's state visit to Belgium, the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Belgium have sealed a significant partnership in green hydrogen. This landmark agreement, marked by a Memorandum of Understanding between Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom) and the Belgian Hydrogen Council (BHC), signals a mutual dedication to advancing the global hydrogen economy. The MOU sets the stage for robust cooperation along the hydrogen value chain, encompassing aspects like production, infrastructure, transportation, and utilization. It also paves the way for potential collaborations with other European nations, aiming to address legislative hurdles and drive research and development initiatives. The Minister of Energy and Minerals in Oman, H.E. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, emphasized the transformative nature of this alliance, highlighting Oman's capability as a green hydrogen production hub and Belgium's strategic position in European hydrogen markets. The partnership aims to enhance energy security and establish a seamless hydrogen supply chain, fostering innovation to expedite the global shift towards clean energy.
