Norsk e-Fuel, Prime Capital, and RES have embarked on a project named Project Alby to establish a sustainable aviation fuel production facility in Ånge, North Sweden. The facility, utilizing the Power-to-Liquid process, will convert water and captured CO₂ into e-Kerosene, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional aviation fuels. Expected to produce a minimum of 80,000 tonnes of e-Fuel annually, the plant's operation aligns with the European ReFuelEU Aviation regulation, contributing to sustainable aviation practices. Prime Capital's investment, backed by the European Union’s InvestEU Fund, aims to boost the global production and availability of sustainable aviation fuel. Furthermore, this initiative is set to support the aviation industry's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, highlighting a positive step towards a more sustainable future.
